The Bell Sisters were featured. Also featured were a five-piece band frmo Anaheim, The Highlighters; the band featured two vocalists, Mary Hope and Bob Thomas. Others on the program were Dorothy Wiley of Anaheim, who sang Western songs, and Wanda Trantweine of Cota Mesa, who danced ballet and tap.

Interspersed with contestant judging are stage shows, directed by Bob Russell, concert baritone and TV star. Includes Bell Sisters and the Roguettes, an all girl quintet, Alice Cavers, ballerina, and Boy Foy, cycling juggler. Miss New York, Jackie Loughery of Brooklyn, was crowned (after a brief ballot tie with Miss Louisiana, Jeanne Thompson. Newly-crowned Miss United States competed against at least 38 foreign contestants.
